Fashionweeks are the no.1 occassion for fashion discoveries, wouldn't you think? Those discoveries might range from your new favorite designer to a new 'trend' that's right up your alley. For me, September was all about discoveries, but in terms of my new favorite designer one stood out: Guy Laroche. The dear brand, with Marcel Marongiu as artistic director, gets me, truely - and as a result, I'd like to take his entire SS2014 collection home. MONDAY INSPIRATION: MIXUP

I could've gone for fashionshow X, or editorial Y, but instead I decided to go with a mixup for Inspiration Monday - the result of loads of surfing on the web and running into various beautiful images that caught my eyes .. as they were hard to classify, I decided to put them all up. TO CHOOSE: THE FASHION MAGAZINE

We all look for inspiration when it comes to fashion; in this process, the fashionmagazines are quite important for yours truly. With a current subscription to the Dutch Elle and an occasional Vogue NL here and there, I'd say I get a fair share of inspiration - but the grass is always seems greener on the other side, or in this occassion the other countries. What to think of Vogue UK (Recap of its September Issue here) or the Swedish Style By magazine for example.. my point: so many to choose from - which one to get? Would you have any tips, and what are your favorites?

PFW: PAUL & JOE - AND SOME PREFERENCES

Instead of exploiting my fascination for Phoebe Philo's creations, I figured I'd use a soccer evening (read: boyfriend in front of tv, not much excitement going on) for cranking up my fashion knowledge/ preferences in general. The results so far: I'm not a fan of brightcolor combo's when it comes to outfits (shoes on the other hand .. I'll fill you in on that later), I prefer clean and simple without too many details (that's why Elie Saab isn't my favorite - otherwise it would've had me going) and a combination of fabrics is highly appreciated. Now you can never generalize a label or collection obviously, but it's good to narrow down your sense and preference of fashion, right?

My greatest discovery of the evening: the SS2014 collection of Paul & Joe. Both tough and feminine, and wearable with a bit of color and details - but not too many. Here are my favorites, hope you enjoy! (Pictures from Vogue UK)
